After the outfit Shreeya originally ordered from another website was unexpectedly cancelled, she needed a completely new birthday look on short notice.

Her party had a Barbie-inspired theme, so she envisioned a bright hot-pink outfit with a glamorous, princess-like feel. She also wanted her sister’s outfit to match hers perfectly in colour. For the sister’s blouse, she preferred delicate thin straps, while their mother wanted the option of slightly more coverage.

With only two weeks before the celebration, we immediately began sourcing materials and developing the designs. Shreeya did not connect with any of the ready-made fabrics available—she wanted a very specific shade of hot pink and a look that felt more distinctive and grand.

Instead of settling for a fabric she did not love, we selected a plain hot-pink base and transformed it with custom hand embroidery. Gold zari, stones and shimmering details were added throughout the outfit to give it the celebratory finish she envisioned. A layer of soft net ruffles was placed beneath the skirt to create the fuller, princess-style silhouette she wanted.

For her sister’s blouse, we kept the thin base straps she preferred and created detachable wider straps that could be hooked on whenever she or her mother wanted additional coverage. Both sisters’ outfits were made in carefully matched shades so they looked coordinated without losing their individual designs.

All measurements were taken virtually with our guidance over a video call. The three custom outfits were completed, fitted to those measurements and delivered in time for the birthday celebration.
